About the role
Here at Babcock International we’re looking to recruit an Assistant Topographical Surveyor to join the team.
You will be responsible for supporting the Senior and Project surveyors on a daily basis to ensure that the delivery of all contracts are delivered in an efficient, cost effective and safe manner.
What do I need to do the role?
You will be assisting the surveyor with topographic surveys on rail projects. There will be further opportunities for career progression within this role and have aspiration to gain formal academic qualification in the survey discipline
We would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:
• ONC/HNC qualified is preferential or with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in the survey industry.
• Ideally you will have a working knowledge of Autocad.
• Understanding of the general aspects of topographical surveying including the use of the latest Total Stations, downloading of raw survey data and to import into data processing packages.
• Understanding of the GPS system, including receiver operation and data collection.
What else do I need to know?
• There will be a requirement for night working and working weekends.
• Some UK travel may be expected in Scotland and Wales.
• DOE Overtime is paid for any hours worked over 35 hours per week at basic plus ¼ and basic plus ¾ for a Sunday.
