Our client has been established for over 50 years and is a leading Rail and Construction Contractor who are seeking a Freelance Quantity Surveyor with around 4-5 years of experience in either Rail or Civil Engineering for a freelance position based in Manchester.

They are looking to for a dynamic Freelance Quantity Surveyor, working with an innovative and award winning team, which will not only add kudos to your existing portfolio of projects but give you the satisfaction of working for a company that is committed to delivering a quality product by having teamwork at the heart of its culture and operation.

Your focus will be on:

• Actively managing risk and opportunity
• Attending Client progress meetings and provide updates of current progress
• Maintaining client and consultant professional relationships
• Ensuring compliance with contract requirements
• Carrying out and overseeing procurement activities and ensuring production of robust orders
• Commercial control of subcontract packages
• Production of Monthly and Quarterly Cost Reports assessing cost and value to date and projecting future cost and value
• Managing Sub-contract accounts & procurement
• Cost monitoring
• Producing, managing and forecasting Material procurement on site.
• Working within Company Best Practice Procedures
• Measuring and Valuing works

You will be:

• A positive, proactive individual that works collaboratively with colleagues and the client team
• Has an appropriate depth of experience of all aspects of quantity surveying within the Rail or Civil Engineering sector with values up to £1 million
• An expert negotiator with keen attention to detail skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
