General job description:

To provide assistance to the commercial manager/Quantity Surveyors on all aspects of Quantity Surveying. You will be required to perform to the highest standards by ensuring full contractual and commercial responsibilities. You will also be required to ensure the companies procedures and values are represented professionally and without compromise whilst visiting relevant Projects.

Main Duties:

You will be expected to assist the Commercial Manager/Team in the following areas:

• Seeking funding sources and submitting bids
• Carrying out feasibility studies
• Preparing plans, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation
• Cost control
• Writing reports
• Preparing and submitting final accounts
• Making client valuations
• Arranging payments to suppliers and contractors
• Providing advice and forecasts about costs.
• Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client; Costs analysis for repair and maintenance project work;
• Establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies;
• Performing risk and value management and cost control;
• Procurement;
• Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks;
• Preparing and analysing costings for tenders;
• Allocating work to subcontractors;
• Contractual claims;
• Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports;
• Valuing completed work and arranging payments;
• Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use;
• Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Degree Qualified
• Basic level of Quantity Surveyor methods, take-offs, BOQs etc.
