The Land Surveyor is responsible for the surveying and monitoring activities on site. The role requires accurate recording of survey data on site as well as mentoring and staff development
Roles and Responsibilities
• Extending/Checking survey control for construction activities
• Ensure the instructed methods of surveying and monitoring as defined in the method statements and procedures are adopted
• Provide advice and technical support on survey and setting out matters
• Carry out setting out and asbuilt surveys in accordance with project procedures
• Maintain surveying equipment and carry out required checks.
• Establish monitoring schemes and carry out measurement regimen in accordance with the project procedures.
• Ensure that all Data acquisition is processed and analysed correctly with final results recorded for future use.
• Ensure that surveying activities are carried out with the highest regard to the health and safety of all involved and to the protection of the environment.
• Bring non-conformance issues to the attention of Senior Surveyors taking corrective action where applicable.
• Creating comprehensive handover reports as necessary
• Preparation of MS/Task sheets
Experience and Knowledge
• Experience in Civil Engineering, or tunnelling environment for recognised construction companies.
• The role will require the post holder to have excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal and to be able to communicate at site level.
• Enthusiasm and have good communication skills.
• Demonstrate a meticulous and highly accurate approach to work.
• Excellent Computer skills
• Cad Skills (AutoCAD, Microstation)
• Demonstrate a meticulous and highly accurate approach to work.

• Demonstrative use of Surveying software (e.g. StarNet, Cyclone, LGO)
• Experience with all manner of surveying equipment (Leica Total Station, GPS, Digital Level, laser scanner)
• Excellent Computer Skills (MS Excel)
• Excellent analytical/problem solving skills
