Key Experience

• Previous experience managing a team and driving performance;
• Demonstrable experience of being able to influence and manage client expectations is key;
• Being hands-on, able to work in a high tempo environment to tight deadlines;
• Experience working on Framework contracts or running multiple projects concurrently;
• Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying or relevant qualification and experience;
• Civil Engineering, infrastructure or railway Industry experience;
• Previous Main Contracting and or Sub Contractor experience;

The Role

This is a key role in the business, managing a regional commercial team delivering a civil engineering and railway framework.

Working for a Tier 1 contractor and reporting into the Divisional Commercial Manager, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of work, including major and minor civils work ranging from £50,000 to £ <phone number removed> .

Overseeing a commercial team, your responsibilities will include:

• Able to prepare and implement a project specific commercial strategy;
• Ensuring robust Cost Control & Budget Management throughout the project;
• An understanding of contractual arrangements and financial reporting;
• Procurement of suppliers and sub-subcontractors
• Optimising project margins
• Monthly/periodically application for payment reporting
• Management and mentoring of junior staff
• Management of change control procedures
• Preparation and issuance of contractual notices
• Understanding of risk and identifying the implications.
