The Role

Samuel Knight International are pleased to be recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join our national design consultancy as part of the Infrastructure Rail Team in Solihull.

The successful candidate will provide post-contract commercial management of high value/risk activity, as well as to support pre-contract activity within the Project delivery team. Providing specialist commercial advice, guidance and recommendations to mitigate commercial risks.

Skills & Requirements

We are looking for someone not only with the essential skills and knowledge but someone who will be a good cultural fit and wants to be part of an excellent team.

The skills and requirements of our client are listed below. These are not exhaustive and experiences not listed will also be considered:

Essential

  • Ideally 4-8 years experience in commercial management role on infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrable relevant experience of managing Target Cost Contracts.
  • Good understanding of railway and construction industry forms of contract.
  • Good understanding of the construction/rail industry.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience of working within Network Rail.

Desirable

  • Educated to degree standard in related subject.
  • Membership of a relevant professional institute, chartered status.
  • Awareness of industry issues.
  • Demonstrable relevant experience of managing NEC suite of contracts.
