Quantity Surveyor - Claims in North London, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom
I'm looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with heavy claims experience within the utility market to assist a civil engineering contractor working on HS2 on a 6-month contract. Location: Hertfordshire
Roles and responsibilities:
- Be responsible for initiating and leading tasks/processes
- Be responsible for planning and managing own work, and that of other commercial team members
- Ensure that the contractor's commercial position is protected using in-depth understanding of contractual, commercial, insurance and legal processes
- Provide guidance to the JV Project Managers and site teams on contractual issues, in particular Notifications, Claims and Delays
- Manage the Conject Communications register with the Project Team and the Purchaser
- Manage the Change Register
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Use of or knowledge of the Affinity Water document Control software "Conject
Candidate Requirements:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or similar / Equivalent HND (not necessary)
- Experience working on utility contracts
- Working knowledge of IChemeE
- Have a very good work ethic and be willing to work hard
