The Role

Our Quantity Surveyors aim to provide effective project control to ensure that the project is delivered on time within budget to the client's satisfaction and maximise all opportunities to enhance revenue. Experience of working on Highways and transportation projects will be essential for these positions.

Core Functions:
Where applicable to mentor and support junior members of the project commercial team
Measurement and Preparation of approximate BOQ from pre AFC drawings
Preparation of Early stage /Sanction Grade Estimates
Preparation and issue of enquiry documentation
Bid Analysis
Tender clarification meetings / award and contract documentation.· Setting up systems of project control ( drawings, specifications, engineering query, correspondence and change registers)
Drafting of contractual correspondence.
Communication of project control requirements and templates
Establishment of baseline cost report and schedule
Establishing project reporting requirements ( month end)· Management of the Project Cost Report including VOWD and Forecast at Completion
Change management
Re-measurement and agreement of current workscope.
Agreement of VOWD with subcontractors and suppliers
Subcontractor and supplier payments· Identification of potential claims.
Drafting of contractual correspondence.
Cashflow forecasts and updates.
Accrual provisions.
Chairing regular commercial meetings with key delivery contractors
Active participation at client project performance reviews
Active participation in regular review of project risks and opportunities to minimise outturn cost through Value Engineering and maximise opportunities for improved returns.
Earned Value analysis i.e. planned vs. achieved vs. expended.
Productivity/efficiency analysis/calculation (dependent on Contract style).

Desired Skills/ Experience:
Experienced in the use of major standard forms of Contract including NEC and FIDIC
Commercial awareness
Multi Discipline Capability
Good MS Office Skills
Clean Driving Licence
Degree
Membership of a relevant professional body (RICS/ACostE/CIOB)
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Highway experience
