Globally renowned construction company operating primarily in the transportation space are currently looking for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join their highly motivated team of permanent staff based in their regional office in Birmingham working on a large scale rail infrastructure project.

The Quantity Surveyor will be assisting the Senior Quantity Surveyor in implementing rigorous measurement and certification of subcontract works as well as ensuring that works are valued to deliver contractual entitlement as well as delivering the necessary controls to provide accurate cost capture and reconciliation. The Quantity Surveyor will also assist in preparing comparisons of cost with value across all schemes, activities and value streams as well as developing strategies to enhance performance and deliver best value to the client.

The Quantity Surveyor will perform the following tasks/duties;

Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor with Works Package contract administration
Electronic filing of records (Viewpoint etc)
Pre contract duties.
Sending out subcontract enquiries.
Evaluating the returned tenders.
Sub contract measurement.
Preparation of subcontractor monthly payments.
Assist in preparation of subcontractor final accounts.

Candidates will have the following experience;

* Degree qualification (MRICS accredited or equivalent).
* Previous experience working on large scale infrastructure projects is desirable.
* Ability to time-manage, set priorities and work to strict deadlines.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products especially Excel and Word.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Good communication and negotiation skills.
* Extensive knowledge of NEC type of contracts.
