Linbrooke Services Ltd are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to ensure all commercial functions of its electrical utilities contracts are carried out in line according to LSL’s and Client policies and procedures. The Quantity Surveyor will support the Unit Director who is responsible and accountable for the successful commercial delivery aspects of contracts, together with meeting wider LSL and Client business needs and targets. The Role is Based in Chapeltown Sheffield.
Duties & Responsibilities
Be an integral member of the commercial team, reporting to the Unit Director.
- Measure for, value and submit applications for payment
- Receive and value sub-contractor applications for payment
- Administer sub-contracts
- Ensure all LSL and appropriate Client processes are followed to minimise WIP within contract and business targets.
- Ensure effective cost capture and reporting
- Review payment and invoice queries
- Ensure cash is received on time at forecast level.
- Support the production of both weekly and monthly CVR’s.
- Ensure all work completed is accurately valued and followed through to cash collection.
- Support the procurement and management of sub-contractors and other suppliers.
- Develop and implement changes to process, following understanding of a need to make changes to improve performance.
- Produce and present productivity measures linked to the operations resource to ensure tender compliance.
- Negotiate new unit rates and/or KPI measures.
- Contribute to KPI monitoring and the understanding of how to implement benefits to increase performance.
Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge of service delivery within the utilities sector is desirable.
- Knowledge, understanding and previous experience of utility contracts and sub-contracts, both stand alone and frameworks
- Siteman, Coins, Redsky, or similar system knowledge
- An understanding of relevant statutory, regulatory and company policies and guidelines.
- Proficient in MS word & Excel
- Knowledge and Experience of Purchase Ledgers
- Good communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and work with staff at all levels.
- Flexibility to react to changing workloads.
- Good organisational, administrative and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Able to work both individually and as part of a team
Qualifications:
An appropriate degree or diploma or good previous experience in a similar position.
