Quantity Surveyor in Birmingham, Midlands, United Kingdom
My client, a leading Consultancy, has a position for either staff or freelance Senior Quantity Surveyors to work on their infrastructure projects in Birmingham (outside IR35)
This is a long term contract paying £40-60,000 or £350-425 per day, for the right candidates
As the Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the delivery of a number of major commissions from understanding the Client’s brief through to managing the delivery of commercial services to successful conclusion. Your remit will include building strong client relationships in the process whilst identifying future opportunities in order to continue to develop the client account.
Responsibilities:
Calculate Cost of Work Done (COWD) as well as any agreed variations, along with estimated cost to complete.
Assist with the procurement and contract administration of suppliers and sub contracts.
Quantify changes (variations) and submit Change Request Forms.
Maintain subcontract procurement schedules
Ensure necessary main contract notices are issued on time
Input into financial reports including budgets / forecast for project management
Management of variations throughout the project life
Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts, and Contract Budget reports
Supervising and training of other commercial staff
Provide commercial advice to other team members
Experience Required
NEC Contract
Background in the Rail, Highways or Utilities sector
Worked Pre and Post Contract
Ideally MRICS or working to it.
