Quantity Surveyor in Manchester, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom
An opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team to support and assist in the commercial management of contracts from feasibility through to completion.
Key duties will include:
- Monitor, review, analyse and report on all contract costs for allocated projects
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of contract performance on a contract by contract basis.
- Management of subcontractors.
- Prepare client applications for payment and associated reporting.
- Carry out pricing of variation orders/change requests.
- Prepare interim and final accounts.
- Compare actual costs against planned programme, report and investigate variances.
- Assist with tender preparation and negotiation
You will be self motivated with a pro-active approach and have experience of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines, with a minimum level of supervision. Problem solving, communication and good interpersonal skills are required for this role.
The successful candidate will have gained significant experience in the role of QS within a contracting environment and hold a tertiary qualification in quantity surveying or construction. Whilst not essential, experience of working within the rail industry would be a distinct advantage. You will also be ambitious with a desire to develop yourself and the quantity surveying function.
