BASIC FUNCTION
To establish, maintain and manage a portfolio of sites as issued by the Geospatial Coordinator and clients and undertake all activities required of a Senior Land and Utilities Surveyor to maximize profitability and meet the strategic needs of the business.
This document specifies the minimum qualifications, core competencies and job-specific key competencies required to fulfil the Senior Land and Utilities Surveyor position responsibilities.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Take responsibility for a portfolio of projects, as issued by a specific client, and carry out all related activities, including site surveys, client reporting and negotiating terms with all relevant parties.
·To conduct all company business in a professional manner, liaising with clients to achieve the full acquisition of data and ensure legal, professional and company compliance.
·To generate new business and prepare the required quotations for new and current clients.
·To ensure that the Geospatial Coordinator is kept updated on all activities relating to the project portfolio.
·To be responsible for Land & Utilities Surveyors, Graduate Surveyors & Assistant Land Surveyors within the office and onsite.
·To ensure that all relevant surveying kit is maintained and well kept.
·To ensure that internal administrative documentation is produced to deadline and portrays a professional image of the Company.
·To process documents and provide an update on site survey activities on a daily basis.
·To comply with Health & Safety standards set by the company.
·To comply with Company ISO Standards and Procedures
·Be able to deputise for the Geospatial Coordinator in their absence.
·To be responsible for carrying out predominantly Land & Utility Surveys but also building surveys, bathymetric surveys, setting out etc., and to prepare the required survey drawings using AutoCAD and LSS.
·To carry out volumetric analysis and 3D design using LSS on required sites.
·To carry out Radio Detection and Ground Penetrating Radar Surveys.
·Suitably qualified in utility detection techniques, including appropriate SQA/NVQ's/Pro Quali.e. SQA Units 1,2, & 10 or ProQual 3-5. Conversant with TSA & PAS 128Guidelines.
·Fully Conversant in the use of RD8100 detection equipment. Conversant in the use of Ground Penetrating Radar equipment – MALA Locator or Leica/IDS.
·Holder of CSCS, First Aid certification and preferably confined space trained.
·Willing to work away from home and at weekends when required. (Occasionally at very short notice)
·Conduct site & client visits as required.
HSE RESPONSIBILITIES
·Actively participate and lead by example in the Company’s Quality and HSE Systems and Procedures.
·Understand and comply with Company PPE requirements, policies, and procedures.
·Be prepared to “Stop the Job” in the event that yourself, others, or equipment may be exposed to injury /damage.
·Comply with all Health and Safety instructions and localsite /Client.
·Correctly handle all Health and Safety equipment.
·Recognise and help control HSE hazards where applicable.
·Report all Health, Safety and Environment incidents to management, including near misses, unsafe acts, and hazards.
·Utilise the Safety Observation Sheet (SOS) reporting system.
·Help generate, update and review risk assessments and job safety analysis, where applicable.
·Understand emergency plans, alarms and actions required in the event of an emergency.
·Demonstrate conversance with the Project HSE Plan where applicable to this position/department.
·Participate in accident investigations where required.
·Assume all employee responsibilities listed in the Workplace Safety and Health Act.
·Comply with return-to-work and / or rehabilitation program(s).
·Adhere to the Company 'Way 12 Safety and Quality Principles’ at all times.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Key
·Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
·Experience in Underground Services Tracing/Surveys required
·Experience in the Geospatial Industry (minimum 5years)
·AutoCAD, Trimble Business Centre and LSS experience would be advantageous.
·Full and Clean UK Driving Licence
Other
·4 x 4 Driving experience would be advantageous

·Undertake agreed training and development to provide a framework of knowledge and skills required to perform effectively in the company.
·Participate in annual and regular performance appraisal with Line Manager identifying and agreeing personal development and action plans.
REQUISITE SKILLS
·Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others.
·High proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.
·Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
·Ability to manage own time and others effectively by planning and prioritising.
·Be able to coach, mentor and develop Surveyors & Survey Assistants.
·Ability to work both independently and within teams.
·Must hold a valid passport free from status or restrictive conditions that preclude travel to and work in countries where the Company routinely operates.
