SENIOR Quantity Surveyor - RAIL - NORTH WEST - FREELANCE

Senior QS currently required to join a well established Rail Contractor in the North West, to assist with the delivery of a large scale Rail Project in the North West, on a freelance basis. The ideal candidate will have 5 years experience of working with a Principal Rail Contractor, delivering major Rail projects.

Candidate requirements:

• Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying
• 5 Years experience Quantity Surveying experience, on a number of large Rail Projects
• Able to demonstrate a high level of Rail & Civil Engineering knowledge
• Experience of overseeing a team of QS's and Commercial Assistants
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Excellent understanding and working knowledge of Network Rail principles and standards

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Taking control of the project from a commercial viewpoint
• Ensuring the project runs in line with timescales and budget
• Attending commercial review meetings
• Attending pre-contract meetings
• Negotiating with suppliers
• Preparing and submitting client valuations and management of the variation account
• Providing commercial updates
• Managing junior members of staff
• Manage commercial performance against the business and project targets
• Reviewing contract documents
• Liaising with Project Management
