Senior Quantity Surveyor in Hereford, Norfolk, United Kingdom
One of UK's largest construction companies is urgently looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on a short-term contract basis (3 months initially) on a large scale public services project based in Norwich. The Senior Quantity Surveyor is required due to an increase in commercial scope owing to significant client change on the project.
This key role will provide commercial support to the contract team and input to the highway infrastructure. The Senior Quantity Surveyor requires contract knowledge and analytical appraisal, mitigation appraisal & costing and assistance in the production of commercial reports. The principal aim will be to ensure capture of full entitlement/value and deliver a complete change management process in particular to recognise and negotiate settlement of compensation events. This diverse role includes working closely with our clients commercial, finance and contract delivery teams.
Responsibilities/Duties;
* Change Control
* Notifying, researching and valuing compensation events
* Sub-Contract management.
* Commercial issues arising in connection with client change.
* Document control and process management.
* Making a material contribution to improving the returns on the contracts.
* Production of commercial, financial and management reports.
* Preparation and delivery of the subcontractor accruals, Valuations and data towards the CVR.
Candidates should have the following skills and experience;
* Knowledge of the NEC3 Term Contract.
* HND/Degree in Civil Engineering/Quantity Surveying.
* Experienced in evaluation, and reconciliation of application.
* Experience within Highways / Major Civil Engineering projects.
* Able to communicate and present confidently, clearly and expressively.
* Effective written and oral communication skills and good organisational skills.
* Creative/ problem solving skills.
* Able to work collaboratively with other people.
* Focus on delivery of service.
* Sub-contract negotiation and supply chain management.
* A person able to work on their own initiative and be able to schedule workload to meet priorities.
* Strong negotiation skills and experience of managing key suppliers.
