Senior Quantity Surveyor required in Norwich. Candidates must have experience in subcontractor procurement and management. A comprehensive understanding of the NEC contract and the ability to administer the main and sub contracts to achieve project targets and outcomes.
Role:
- Experience and detailed technical knowledge of the work types involved on the project
- Preferable experience on Target Cost contracts (which will assist with the partial reimbursable nature of this work).
- Able to think strategically to achieve project outcomes
- Able to manage, prioritise and balance workload
- Ability to follow company procurement procedures.
- Demonstrate strategic thinking for procurement and change management
- Compile ITT packages, collate tender returns, evaluation and recommendation
- Production of comprehensive NEC subcontract documentation
- Robust subcontractor management;
- payments,
- Issuing instructions;
- change management
- understanding of programme and management of interfaces
- writing contractual notices
- producing subcontractor liability packs for internal reporting
- ability to accurately forecast
- Identifying change which should be pursued from the client and writing contractual notices such as EWNs, NCEs and communications
- Risk and opportunity management to ensure we achieve value for money for the client
- Understanding the relationship between design and construction
- Able to understand, interrogate and interpret programmes and project controls
- Experience in producing management accounts such as CVRs and Forecast
- Ability to confidently chair meetings with subcontractors
- Able to lead and influence discussions with members of the client team
Successful candidates must have/be:
- CSCS card
- Rail desired
- PTS
- Degree certified or working towards
- MRICS / CICES / MCIARB or similar
- Experience in conversion, upgrading and enhancement of the existing depot facilities to allow capability of storing and maintaining the new fleet of Stadler and Bombardier trains, while maintaining access for the client’s depot operations.
- Installation of new sidings in previously disused area
- Refurbishment of existing depot buildings including addition of gantries,
- Extension of maintenance shed buildings
- Specialist equipment installation, CET, lifting jacks, turntables, train wash, fuel system
- Civils, MEP, fit out works
- Rail systems works; p-way, OLE, signalling
