Senior Quantity Surveyor

A regional construction contractor is searching for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team. This successful family-owned business operating in the rail environment

A fast paced commercial role in a rail civils environment

Must have the ability to rely on their own resources to:

• Preparing valuations for interim application for payment including variations;
• Preparing, negotiating and agreeing final account
• Monitoring costs to ensure budgets are met;
• Identifying opportunities and risks
• Track changes to the construction work and adjusting budgets accordingly
• Take the measured the work done on site and value it in application to the client
• Liaise with the clients, project managers and QS’s
• Liaise with our site managers

Key skills for surveyors

• Self motivated with good self organisational and time planning skills
• Numeracy
• A good working knowledge of MS Excel Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills
• Teamworking
• The ability to negotiate
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
