Senior Quantity Surveyor

Randstad CPE currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with Rail experience to get involved on various projects on a permanent or even freelance basis. This role will be based around Salford, Manchester. This is a massive opportunity for any ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor. As well as being on board with a forward thinking regional contractor, which will look great on any CV.

The Contractor

Privately owned company established in 2007. Since then the company has grown steadily and built strong, long lasting partnerships with its clients. As the company developed they have set up dedicated divisions to cover rail infrastructure including Civil Engineering, Communications, Permanent Way, alongside Civil Engineering & Building projects within the Airport Sector.

Role & Responsibilities

• Line management and integration of new team members where appropriate
• Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the management team. Help ensure that business targets and KPI's are exceeded
• Preparation of monthly cost / value reports for area, together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members
• Production of commercial reports together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members
• Physical measurement of works and agreement of same with client and subcontractors
• Agreement of certification and payment of subcontractor accounts - monitoring of such accounts against forecasts
• Implementation and compliance with the contract change control procedure and monitoring thereof including notices to client as appropriate
• Commercial and contractual advice to area team as and when required

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

• Rail experience is needed.
• Educated to Degree level, or equivalent experience with Quantity Surveying
• Excellent Communication skills both written and verbally
• UK Driving Licence
