Negotiable Based on Experience |
Contract
Role: Construction Manager (Rail HS2)
Location: London
Type: Contract
Rate: Negotiable
Duration: 9 months initially, option to extend
I am looking to place a Construction Manager with site-based experience of rail infrastructure projects in an engineering consultancys London/Canary Wharf office. The consultancy has won a range of High-Speed2 (HS2) projects as one of the main engineering partners. This role is on a contract basis, with the initial term being 9 months and the option to extend once the initial project is complete.
The role is to maintain oversight of site agents and engineers, ensuring the buildability of designs and completion of groundworks, drainage, infrastructure and site structures in preparation for the construction of rail-related civils and structures in the future.
Previous experience of NEC contracts would be advantageous for this particular role, as would previous experience of managing construction works in major infrastructure/rail. The role will be primarily based in Central London, with travel to various sites along the HS2 line as required. Successful candidates will be able to effectively manage work/program tasks to ensure site agents are operating correctly, adhering to designs, mitigating risk and ensuring compliance with all health and safety protocols. Further, decisions made by successful candidates will have an effect on the financial performance and timeline of the project, so the ability to manage budgets and construction resources (labour and materials) will also be a key part of this role.
This would suit anyone who has previous experience managing materials, site agents and construction professionals in a rail or other major infrastructure setting. Experience of NEC contracts would also benefit anyone who takes up this post. This is an excellent opportunity to work on one of the largest infrastructure projects of our time (HS2) and work alongside a team of other dedicated professionals committed to improving the infrastructure in the UK.
