Interim contractual position offering competitive per day rates

An established civil engineering main contractor, who is engaged in a series of minor and major upgrade and development programmes for the upgrade of our UK Railway infrastructure, are currently in need of an experienced and knowledgeable Interim Construction Manager experienced working and managing within a multi-discipline interface, compiling handback files in London.

Requirements:

As the Interim Construction Manager, you will have previous experience working in a similar role monitoring and managing varied site representatives to ensure that work sites activities are effective, credible and conducted safely and in line with the NWR standards making sure that there is very limited or no destruction to the operational Rail line.
It is envisaged that the Interim Construction Manager with be accountable for complete handback files and also be effective within performing the following;

  • Reviewing Method Statements and Task briefs and conducted risk assessments on site.
  • Ensure that required site access, isolation and possessions are all booked in good time in line with the programme
  • Carry out set site inspections, to eliminate any deviations from the programme and ensuring the quality of the delivery is sufficient
  • Look to highlight and instruct any snagging work which will be required to be put right, ensure that any related non-conformance reports are closed out in line with in an audit fashion
  • Effective sub-contractor management, with confidence to conduct and review set requirements plan and milestones as well as effective progress monitoring, quality checking and reporting


It is envisaged that the Interim Construction Manager will possess the following;

  • Good man-management skills, head strong with the ability to lead by example
  • Strong communication skills, able to competently interface with clients and key-stakeholders and work collaboratively at white board meetings with interfacing disciplines
  • The ability and experience of programme management and have extensive experience in managing a supply chain.
  • Be focused on Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality
  • Competent in conducting thorough Task Briefs and leading site / progress meetings, issuing task requirements and assessing and best utilisation of resource
