Engineering Manager/CEM (Railway Operational Comms)
A Telecommunications, Signalling and Power Contractor is seeking an Engineering Manager/CEM (Railway Telecommunications systems) to join its expanding engineering team and project portfolio.
This is a senior role to manage the design and project engineering aspects of railway operational telecommunications schemes valued from £100,000 to £5m. You will act as Contractors Engineering Manager overseeing engineering for multi-disciplinary aspects of operational telecommunications projects. You'll ensure that all Network Rail processes and procedures and associated assurance is adhered to. You will co-ordinate teams of Engineers to deliver integrated design and engineering solutions associated with operational comms projects. You will be managing and chairing engineering reviews such as IDC/IDRs. Identify process improvements, training, development and recruitment needs. Implement best practice for design and constructibility of operational telecommunications projects. You will have the autonomy to run your projects as you see fit in line with company HSQE, budgetary and programme requirements.
To be considered for this role you will have extensive experience in railway telecommunications systems (FTN, FTNx, Fibre & Copper cabling, Concentrators and line-side telephony) as well as a strong understanding of multi-disciplinary railway projects design and engineering. You will preferably be a signed off Network Rail CEM, or as a minimum CRE looking to take the next step to take on the extra responsibility of the CEM role. You should have the drive to deliver work right first time, provide solutions to complicated engineering problems, and have a strong working knowledge of railway telecommunications systems combined with a strong understanding of the Network Rail Assurance processes and procedures including NR/L2/INI/2009.
This role would suit a candidate that is seeking autonomy to have direct influence over the productivity of projects from inception to completion.
Salaries are negotiable dependent on skills and experience. Plus benefits package, including 25 days holiday per annum, rising to 30 days (length of service), contributory pension, private healthcare, company vehicle and uplifts for weekends if required.
