Job location: North West London
Salary:£Negotiable
Holiday entitlement: 33 days holiday, 25 holidays plus 8 bank holidays.
Shifts: Mornings, Days & nights (Rotating Shift pattern)
Hours per week: 37 hours a week
Industries considered: Rolling Stock, Royal Navy, RAF, British Army, Automotive, and Aerospace
Disciplines considered: Electrical Maintenance Technician / Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Purpose of the Job:
Working as part of a team to maintain the depot assets of a facility being used as part of the high profile Crossrail project.
Responsible for the routine maintenance of the Rolling Stock Depot Assets to be carried out by all associated processes and procedures required to ensure all buildings, plant, equipment and infrastructure is maintained and operational to ensure the safety of all staff and movement of trains is upheld at all times.
Undertake all types of maintenance examination work to ensure that we provide a safe, reliable, and defect free depot plant. Take responsibility for the safe, efficient and professional workmanship of oneself and others under your control including supporting specialist contractors maintaining equipment.
Undertake 'Designated Person' safety responsibility for applying Depot Protection System and ensure safe systems of work methods are applied
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for undertaking technical maintenance to the required standards, and in accordance with all maintenance instructions for Depot Assets within Old Oak Common Depot:
Buildings: Building, office and ground maintenance, cleaning, utility supply, communications infrastructure, building management system control.
Plant: Combined heat / power plant, ground source heat pumps, air handling units, compressors, mobile powered plant, lift, and depot protection system.
Equipment: Wheel lathe, bogie drop, wash plant, automated visual inspection system, cranes, synchronised lifting jacks.
Infrastructure: Overhead line equipment, signalling system, traction switching station, track and point motors.
Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all maintenance documentation prior to Facility Manager validation and authorisation.
Responsible to report to the Facility Manager for the accurate identification of outstanding work at the end of the shift.
Operation of powered plant, lifting and mechanical handling equipment. Respond to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise, those that have impacts on the safe operation of the depot. Ensure the depot meets health and safety.
Ensuring all problems with processes, tooling and documentation are identified within the team is reported to the Facility Manager
Compliance with all laid down H&S legislation and depot procedures to ensure a safe accident free environment
Produce comprehensive reports on specific fault finding investigations on failed equipment
Qualifications / Education required:
Qualified to HNC level in an Electrical / Mechanical engineering or Electronic engineering related discipline
Relevant experience required
*Competent to undertake safety critical work
*Ability to undertake detailed fault finding and analysis by reading and following electrical and pneumatic schematic drawings
*Technical knowledge and understanding building, plan, equipment and infrastructure maintenance
*Comprehensive knowledge of Electrical & Mechanical Principles
*Personal Track Safety Certificate (PTS)
Computer literate and experience of using a maintenance management system for work recording
