Contract Considered

We are currently dealing with a major Engineering consultancy who are looking at recruiting a Principal Bridge Engineer to be based in York working on range of major projects including the TRU as well as several bridge repair, maintenance and renewal packages with Design and Build contractors. As the Principal Engineer you will undertake the technical leadership on Rail Structure and bridge schemes in which typical job duties can include, but not limited to:

• Carrying out the role of CRE Bridge Design on Network Rail projects
• Leading the development of technical solutions to client remits
• Responsible for the discipline strategy, recruitment and development of staff
• Mentoring and development of more junior staff on projects you are delivering.
• Making sure stakeholder relationships are maintained with all external parties to enhance the reputation of the company.

Job Requirements

• Chartered Engineer (IStructE or ICE)
• Experienced in acting as a CRE
• Experienced in providing technical leadership to design teams
• Strong depth of Bridge/and rail structure experience within a consultancy environment

 
As mentioned, both contract and permanent candidates will be considered for this position. It would be based in York so could suit candidates in the surrounding Yorkshire regions like Sheffield and Leeds. Flexible working approach will be adopted once the offices reopen with a split working between home and office.
