Rail Engineer
Introduction;
The successful candidate will be joining the Systems Engineering Management team as a Requirements Engineer to work for Great Western Route Modernisation Programme. The role is to define and support the application of Systems Engineering practice across the programme and align this with the practice deployed within Interfacing Projects and Programme Organisations within the Infrastructure Project in Western & Wales region
Qualifications:
Educated to a Degree level in a preferably in a Railway engineering discipline. Member of a Professional Body - INCOSE, MIET etc
Responsibilities:
- The Requirements Engineer shall be capable of discharging the following duties:
- Requirements Management including resolution of conflicts in requirements
- Setting up high-level direction to develop innovative solutions to efficiently utilise DOORS
- Management of the changes in the requirements / change control
- Leading and conducting Verification & Validation of Requirements (design V&V and construction V&V)
- Stakeholder Interface Management The Requirements Engineering Expert will;
- Be acting as a mention and a role model for the team of Requirements Engineers
- lead the Requirements management and V&V activities across GWRM and will provide technical direction and support to the programme engineering team in compliance and assurance matters on programmes / projects and leads the implementation of best practices across the team.
- be required to develop requirements and V&V Management Plan to set the tools and procedures and make standards to be followed and complied with, by the contractors across the programme
- be the champion within the Requirements Engineering team, ensuring the contractors teams are supported in delivering their works in accordance with the relevant requirements. This will include running workshops to disseminate current best practice.
Key Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Educated to a Degree level in a preferably in a Railway engineering discipline. • Track record experience in using and managing DOORS in complex multidisciplinary projects (preferably rail projects)
- Experienced in managing change control in complex multidisciplinary projects (preferably rail projects)
- Experienced in developing solutions, plans, tools and application for design and construction V&V
- A thorough understanding of compliance and assurance principals as applied to delivering change to railway systems / sub-systems.
- Strong Leadership and Organisational Skills.
- Skills to deliver engaging presentations to a diverse audience.
