Rail Station/Depot Building Structure Expert - Philippines

The market leading infrastructure recruitment specialist is supporting with the appointment of a Station/Depot Building Structure Expert to provide consultancy services as part of an international team on a major Rail project in Manila.

Opportunity:

My client is a leading International consultancy firm who having worked throughout the specification, design phases and will be carrying out the construction supervision.

As part of a Japanese led joint venture the successful expert shall be the leading authority for all structural elements of both stations and depot facilities. The stations are all elevated structures ranging from 3 to 5 stories.

Responsibilities:

• Review of the detailed engineering design and construction plan (including Shop Drawings) for Station and Depot Building Structures.
• Review the contractor's work plan and identify the feasibility of their work Method Statements.
• Evaluation of claims, variations orders and value engineering proposals submitted by the Contractors.
• Coordinating and interfacing with E&M &Track teams on matters relating to the Station and Depot Buildings
• Coordinating with quality team, construction management team, and material engineer on various Station and Depot Building Structures technical matters.
• Drafting Letters in response to Contractor's submittals based on the project contract guidelines.
• Assist the BIM team with BIM managing the Contractor's BIM Execution.

Although the detailed design has largely been completed the position still requires an expert with a strong background and understanding of structural design. The role shall also be required to provide support to others including Architect team, Construction team, BIM team, etc., giving advise on all matters structural in as far as buildings are concern.

Key requirements for the role:

• bachelor's degree in Structural engineering or similar.
• 10+ years on major structures (Stations or depot)
• Design background would be advantageous
• Previous consultancy experience
• Regional experience would be advantageous but not essential

Language:

Fluency in Written and spoken English is essential

Package:

The salary package would be in the region of $9,000 to $12,000 Tax free
