Rail - Technical Services Engineer – South East London - £42,000 per annum

I am currently seeking a Technical Services Engineer who has strong technical knowledge of rolling stock. The main purpose is to view trends in the performance of stock, which includes looking at reliability and safety, carry out any investigations required, make recommendations, all keeping customer satisfaction and a high quality operational service as the focal point.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete technical investigations into reported issues and performance trends
• Highlight immediate issues and underlying causes, making any recommendations necessary
• Complete documentation and reports on technical issues
• Create and develop fault finding guides for common issues affecting stock
• Provide technical support to all engineering directorates
• Provide technical advice regarding prioritisation and whether work can be deferred
• Provide on-call Fleet Technical Officer (FTO) incident response service where necessary

About you:

• Hold a valid UK driving license
• Ideally degree educated (or demonstrable experience) in relevant engineering discipline
• Strong rolling stock experience, knowledge of planned maintenance processes and repair of rail vehicle systems
• Experience developing and editing maintenance procedures and fault-finding guides
• Good knowledge of industry rules and regulations
• 5+ years’ experience in a T&RS engineering environment
• Good knowledge of IT systems, including Windows, Word, Excel as well as a good understanding of mainframe systems, including EMS, TRUST, and hybrid systems such as GENIUS and RAVERS

The position is based South East London. They’re offering a competitive salary of £42,000 as a base salary, and a strong benefits package including various travel discounts and final salary pension scheme.
