Operations Manager in Widnes, Cheshire, United Kingdom
We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to join the team on a large project in Widnes for an industry-leading Rail Company.
Hours & Rate
37 hours/week - will include a mixture of days, nights and weekends
£25.18/hour - for all hours worked - Limited Company
Duration
This project will run until at least October 2019
Qualifications Required
*Qualified to HNC/Degree Level (or adequate previous work experience)
Experience Required
*Good IT skills and previous management of teams (Managers/Staff)
*Good knowledge of railway products and systems,
*Conflict management and interpersonal skills,
*Team spirit approach and good communication skills,
*Communication abilities to obtain collaboration from the matrix organisation involved in SQDC,
*Anticipation and clear reporting,
*Client way of working for efficient process execution,
*Leadership, initiative and decision minded.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
*Support the planning and execution of internally produced services/parts and internally based projects.
*Ensure key project stakeholders are informed and aligned toward project goals.
*Management and organisation of production staff including product testers, to deliver daily production requirements in order to meet the project/business objectives.
*Ensure the execution of quality & delivery performance meets business objectives and customer satisfaction.
*Represent Client with customers and other stakeholders as required.
*Report with transparency, the status of the project and its KPIs, as and when required.
*Review operational project risks, implementing required and agreed mitigation initiatives.
*Monitoring working practices and environment to ensure that people and facilities meet all requirements (inc. promotion of 5S culture within teams/facility).
*Initiate, coordinate and support continuous improvement activities within the workshop.
*Ensure that critical issues are identified in reviews and proactively / professionally addressed and followed up.
*Ensure work is performed in a safe and effective manner in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act (1974), Rules and Regulations, AZDP, Railway Group Standards, TOC Safety Case and Client Policies and Procedures & Code of Ethics
*EHS: Accountable for the proper implementation of the Client policy and Customer requirements by all stakeholders (internal & external) including suppliers and contractors. Use and promote Close Call Reporting.
Accountabilities
*Delivery of daily production requirements.
*Optimisation of production efficiencies.
*Maintaining of 5S within the Production Facility.
Our Client operates a strict 0-tolerance Drug and Alcohol policy. The successful candidate will be expected to take a Drug and Alcohol Test on their first day.
