Operations Standards Manager
Samuel Knight International are currently recruiting a Operations Standards Manager for our client who is one of the UK’s leading train operating companies.
We are seeking someone who has experience in this role. You will manage a team and you will lead the development and achievement of our clients operational safety systems to ensure total compliance with all safety requirement, including robust audit trials. You will review serious incidents / accidents ensuring procedures have been followed and making any recommendations that will lead to improvements.

Accountabilities:
- Ensuring that driving and operations are compliant with all company and industry standards.
- Take the role on as a Lead Assessor, mentoring other assessors and verifying assessments taking place.
- Overall management of the Controlled Management System including associated competence records and materials for route knowledge.
- Ensuring that arrangements are in place for the training and assessment of safety critical staff to meet Company, RGS, ROGS and Railway Industry Standards.
- Monitor the training and ongoing competence of safety critical staff and undertake regular progress meetings with Operations Managers, Assessors and Training Department.
- Undertake Safety Tours and Inspections.
- Be a role model for safety through your strict compliance with safety requirements.
- Operational on Call Duties and respond to any accident and incident as required.
- Contribute to the delivery of company occupational health and welfare, safety and environmental improvement plans.
Candidates must have:
- Proven Manager with at least five years' experience in the management of railway operations, possessing outstanding interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Train Driving Licences and Certificates Regulations 2010.
- Comprehensive knowledge of The Railways and Other Guided Transport Systems (Safety) Regulations 2006.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Railway Group Standards.
- Internal Quality Assurance qualification (or equivalent).
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification would be beneficial.
- Medically fit to hold PTS Competence.
- Confident character with a hard work ethic and integrity to support the business growth.
