OPERATIONS MANAGER RAIL - NORTH WEST - PERMANENT
Rail Operations Manager is currently required to join a well established Network Rail contractor in the North West region, on a permanent basis. The contractor is going through a large expansion programme, and is looking to hire someone, who will report to the Rail Director, and who can head up the rail operations for the North West region.
The role:
- Working closely with the Regional Director, you will be expected to oversee all operations in relation to Rail Project Delivery in the North West
- Manage the delivery of the regional Business Plan
- Pro-actively contribute to the implementation of the Regional Rail Strategy
- Overseeing all Rail work with a keen interest on H&S, Technical, Compliance and Commercial requirements
- Reviewing current policies and procedures and making recommendations for change
- Identify poor performance, challenge and address
- Overseeing the regional work bank, with responsibility for the commercial success
- Managing and maintaining relationships with Network Rail
- Overseeing operational delivery
- Overseeing all Rail Project Operations
- Head up the delivery team with responsibility for training, HSQE and continued professional development
- Assisting a team of Senior Projects Manager to manage and deliver framework projects
- Will involve travelling between Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire
The candidate:
- This role will involve reporting to the Rail director, so you must have held a senior role previously
- Considerable experience of working in the rail industry, developing and delivering projects in relation to Civil engineering and P-Way related fields
- Experience of working in a similar role within the Rail industry, possibly progressing through from Project Manager or Senior Project Manager roles
- Educated to degree level, in a construction field such as Civil Engineering, possibly chartered and with a track record in leading and developing teams within the rail industry
- Experience of Rail & Construction from a Contracting environment
- Must possess strong leadership skills, and ability to develop and challenge a team of technical staff, and manage performance levels
- Excellent understanding of HSQE legislation
