Trafnidiaeth Cymru yw’r cwmni nid-er-elw sy’n mynd ati i gyflawni gweledigaeth Llywodraeth Cymru o ddarparu rhwydwaith trafnidiaeth diogel, integredig, fforddiadwy a hygyrch o safon uchel yng Nghymru. Ein nod yw ‘Cadw Cymru i Symud’ drwy ddarparu gwasanaethau sy'n canolbwyntio ar gwsmeriaid, rhoi cyngor arbenigol a buddsoddi mewn seilwaith.
Nawr gall y rheini sy’n teithio ar y rheilffyrdd ledled Cymru a’r gororau edrych ymlaen at wasanaethau rheilffyrdd a fydd yn cael eu trawsnewid, diolch i fuddsoddiad gwerth £5 biliwn a fydd yn ariannu gwelliannau sylweddol o ran amlder ac ansawdd gwasanaethau Cymru a’r Gororau, yn ogystal â chreu Metro De Cymru.
Bydd y tîm Gweithrediadau Rheilffyrdd yn mynd ati’n effeithiol i reoli Gwasanaeth Rheilffyrdd Cymru a'r Gororau a thwf gwasanaethau rheilffyrdd, gan gynnwys Metro De Cymru a gwasanaethau Metro eraill dros amser. Bydd y tîm Gweithrediadau Rheilffyrdd yn datblygu tîm masnachol, sy’n ystyriol o ddiogelwch ac sy’n canolbwyntio ar wasanaeth a fydd yn rhoi’r teithwyr yn gyntaf. Bydd yn gwneud hyn drwy sicrhau’r canlynol:
- Ffocws clir ar sicrhau perfformiad rheilffyrdd a rheoli contractau;
- Sylfaen o gydymffurfio â diogelwch a sicrwydd sy'n unol â safonau'r diwydiant a Swyddfa Rheoleiddio'r Rheilffyrdd;
- Rheoli rhanddeiliaid ym mhob rhan o Gymru mewn ffordd sydd wedi'i halinio ag unedau busnes rhanbarthol;
- Mwy o fentrau yng nghyswllt cwsmeriaid a chyflawni er mwyn sbarduno arloesi, integreiddio a chysylltedd;
- Bod y gwasanaeth yn canolbwyntio ar welliant parhaus ac ar sicrhau gwerth am arian.
Bydd y tîm Gweithrediadau Rheilffyrdd yn arwain y gwaith o greu gwasanaeth rheilffyrdd trawsnewidiol a fydd yn canolbwyntio ar ymateb i anghenion pobl a chymunedau yng Nghymru a’r gororau. Bydd yn gwerthfawrogi cyfraniadau pobl, yn ymfalchïo mewn llwyddiant ac yn sicrhau canlyniadau. Fel rhan o’r tîm Gweithrediadau Rheilffyrdd, bydd y Swyddog Gweithrediadau Rheilffyrdd yn cefnogi ac yn darparu amrywiaeth o wasanaethau gweithredol er mwyn galluogi’r cwmni i gyflawni ei fusnes craidd.
Y Swydd a'i Chyfrifoldebau
- Gweithio ar draws y tîm Gweithrediadau Rheilffyrdd a thîm ehangach Trafnidiaeth Cymru er mwyn helpu i gyflenwi gweithgareddau, prosesau a systemau gweithredol a rheoli o ddydd i ddydd.
- Rheoli dyddiaduron y tîm Gweithrediadau Rheilffyrdd a gweithio gyda thîm ehangach Trafnidiaeth Cymru i drefnu cyfarfodydd a digwyddiadau.
- Mynd ati’n rhagweithiol i hysbysu’r tîm Gweithrediadau Rheilffyrdd am unrhyw ddyddiadau cau mewnol neu allanol sydd ar droed, cydlynu unrhyw ddogfennau gofynnol a chefnogi’r tîm i sicrhau ei fod yn cyflawni ei waith yn brydlon.
- Paratoi’r holl ddogfennau, yn cynnwys papurau, adroddiadau a chyflwyniadau, cyn i aelodau’r tîm fynd i’w cyfarfodydd dyddiol a’u hymrwymiadau eraill.
- Paratoi a rheoli gohebiaeth a dogfennau eraill ar gais y tîm, yn cynnwys cyflwyniadau, papurau, adroddiadau a thaenlenni.
- Gweithio gyda’r tîm Gwasanaethau Corfforaethol i reoli’r trefniadau logistaidd a theithio ar ran y tîm Gweithrediadau Rheilffyrdd.
- Cefnogi prosiectau penodol fel sy’n ofynnol gan y tîm Gweithrediadau Rheilffyrdd a thîm ehangach Trafnidiaeth Cymru.
- Helpu i ddatblygu, darparu, monitro ac adolygu polisïau, gweithdrefnau, prosesau a systemau er mwyn hwyluso datblygiad parhaus o fewn y tîm Gweithrediadau Rheilffyrdd ac ar draws tîm ehangach Trafnidiaeth Cymru.
- Cydlynu ymholiadau gan dîm Trafnidiaeth Cymru, Llywodraeth Cymru, y cyhoedd ac amryw o randdeiliaid a chyflenwyr, ac ymateb iddynt.
- Rheoli a chydlynu ymatebion i ohebiaeth sy’n cyrraedd drwy flychau post y cwmni.
- Mewnbynnu data i systemau priodol mewn modd cywir a phrydlon a pharatoi amrywiaeth o adroddiadau fel sy’n ofynnol gan y tîm Gweithrediadau Rheilffyrdd.
- Sicrhau bod yr holl ddogfennau gofynnol yn cael eu cwblhau yn gywir a diweddaru cofnodion er mwyn darparu trywydd archwilio clir.
- Sganio a ffeilio dogfennau, a diweddaru cofnodion mewn modd cywir a chyflawn i’w storio a’u rhannu’n briodol.
- Deall sefyllfa ariannol y cwmni a'r economi ehangach, a sicrhau gwerth am arian wrth ddarparu gwasanaethau.
- Cynnal eich datblygiad proffesiynol eich hun ac ymgyfarwyddo’n gyson â newidiadau rheoleiddiol a datblygiadau ym maes arferion gorau.

Location: Cardiff – relocating to Pontypridd by 2020.

Purpose of Post
Transport for Wales (TfW) is the not-for-profit company driving forward the Welsh Government’s vision of a high-quality, safe, integrated, affordable and accessible transport network in Wales. Our mission is to ‘Keep Wales Moving’ by providing customer-focused service, expert advice and infrastructure investment.
Rail passengers across Wales and its borders can now look forward to the transformation of their rail services thanks to a £5 billion investment that will fund significant improvements to the frequency and quality of Wales and Borders services, as well as the creation of the South Wales Metro.
The Rail Operations team will effectively manage the Wales and Borders Rail Service and the growth of rail services, including the South Wales Metro and other Metro services over time. The Rail Operations team will develop a safety-conscious, commercial, service-driven team focused on putting the passenger first through:
- A clear focus on rail performance delivery and contract management;
- A foundation of safety compliance and assurance in line with ORR and industry standards;
- Stakeholder management across Wales aligned to regional business units;
- Growth in customer and delivery initiatives to drive innovation, integration and connectivity; and
- A focus on continuous improvement and delivering value for money.
The Rail Operations team will lead on creating a transformational rail service focused on responding to the needs of the people and communities in Wales and its borders that values people’s contributions, takes pride in successes and delivers results. As part of the Rail Operations team, the Rail Operations Officer will support and deliver a range of operational services to enable the company to carry out its core business.
Role and Responsibilities
- Work across the Rail Operations team and the wider Transport for Wales team to support the day-to-day management and delivery of a range of operational activities, processes and systems.
- Manage the Rail Operations team’s diaries and work with the wider Transport for Wales team to organise meetings and events.
- Proactively advise the Rail Operations team of any impending internal or external deadlines, co-ordinate any required documents and support the team to ensure that all deadlines are met.
- Prepare all documents, including papers, reports and presentations, in advance for team members’ attendance at daily meetings and other commitments.
- Prepare and manage correspondence and other documentation as requested by the team, including presentations, papers, reports and spreadsheets.
- Work with the Corporate Services team to manage the logistical and travel arrangements for the Rail Operations team.
- Support specific projects as required by the Rail Operations team and the wider Transport for Wales team.
- Support the development, delivery, monitoring and review of policies, procedures, processes and systems to facilitate continuous improvement within the Rail Operations team and across the wider Transport for Wales team.
- Co-ordinate and respond to queries from the Transport for Wales team, the Welsh Government, the public and a range of stakeholders and suppliers.
- Manage and co-ordinate responses to correspondence received via the company’s mailboxes.
- Carry out the accurate and timely entry of data on to the appropriate systems and produce a variety of reports as required by the Rail Operations team.
- Ensure that all required documents are accurately completed and maintain records to provide a clear audit trail.
- Scan and file documents, and maintain accurate and complete records which are appropriately stored and shared.
- Understand the financial position of the company and the wider economy, and ensure that value for money is achieved when delivering services.
- Maintain own professional development and stay abreast of regulatory changes and developments in best practice.
- Fire warden and first aider duties, and prepared to complete the required training to carry out these roles.
- Undertake any other duties as required commensurate with the role and grade.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to organise meetings (including those at a senior level), take minutes, and co-ordinate and implement actions to time and quality.
- Good drafting skills with the ability to accurately produce, proof read and interpret a range of documents – including papers, reports, letters, spreadsheets and presentations.
- Good Excel skills, and proficient and accurate in data entry and management.
- Experience of using a range of Microsoft Office software.
- Excellent interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Good attention to detail and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrable experience of engaging with and developing effective working relationships with a range of internal and external customers/stakeholders.
- The ability to quickly understand the requirements of different parts of the business and effectively support the teams to deliver their objectives.
- Demonstrable experience of planning, prioritising and delivering work to a high standard and by the required deadline.
- Demonstrable experience of working well under pressure and of working proactively and flexibly to manage competing priorities and continually improve processes in a high profile and fast moving organisation.
- Proactive and able to appropriately use own judgement to make decisions and seek to create solutions for overall business benefit.
