Client Summary:
My client is currently seeking a supervisor from a vehicle / asset maintenance background to monitor and resolve reliability issues within operational rolling stock.
Position Summary:
Reliability Technicians ensure a safe, effective and efficient delivery of rail services.
Job Profile - Safety Critical / Safety Related:
*Identify and resolve reliability issues using electrical and mechanical fault find capabilities and knowledge of operational assets and maintenance regimes.
*Maintain a culture of continuous improvement within the maintenance depot
*Develop and maintain a culture of a high standard of housekeeping, ensuring depot work area is clean and tidy, working material is located correctly, waste materials are appropriately disposed of tools are stored correctly, faults and defects with Depot facilities are reported promptly.
*Carry out longer term investigations into recurring faults and liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders to reduce performance issues and incidents in service
*Suggest engineering changes and relevant cost:benefit analysis to improve fleet reliability
*Support the continued development of the safety management system (SMS).
*Ensuring that the work carried out complies with the required technical standards.
*Support preventative scheduled maintenance on the trams, which are complex systems incorporating mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, in accordance with the vehicle maintenance instructions and departmental procedures.
*Manage any supplier / warranty issues that may be contributing to failures in service
*Any other duties that are commensurate with fore filling the role.
Work Experience:
1.Experience in operational asset management or maintenance
2.Experienced in warranty, technical investigation, continual improvements, RAMs, RCA or reliability
3.Experienced in finding and diagnosing faults in complex mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
4.Experienced in the use of computer based diagnostic equipment.
Education:
5.Successful candidate ideally will have completed a recognised electrical engineering or general engineering apprenticeship or hold an appropriate leadership qualification (City and Guilds, NVQ, ONC, HNC, HND, ILM level 3) or in a relevant discipline.
6.Any electrical engineering / maintenance experience is an advantage.
Health and safety qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH beneficial.
