Research Grant and Partnerships Manager in London, United Kingdom

My client, a not-for-profit organisation in the Rail industry, is seeking a Research Grant and Partnerships Manager to work with them on a fixed term basis for 18 months.

The organisation issues grants and commissions research on behalf of other industry organisations- so the post-holder will be working from the perspective of the funding body rather than that of the organisation receiving the grant.

The post-holder will be responsible for monitoring funded research projects from the point at which proposals are received and selected, through to deliverables being completed and findings disseminated. They will work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that high quality research is delivered. The projects will be varied and there are likely to be 10-12 projects ongoing at any one time.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor a number of co-funded projects from when grants are initially awarded and throughout the full project lifecycle, ensuring that progress is made in line with the agreed proposal.
  • Monitor the progress of each project, identifying the need for any remedial actions and ensuring that these are undertaken.
  • Ensure that technical input and review from industry specialists and stakeholders is integrated into all stages of the project delivery.
  • Manage project kick off, review and close out meetings.
  • Support project teams in obtaining relevant industry contacts, knowledge and data.
  • Provide support and challenge project teams in planning the next stages of the implementation journey post proof of concept.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to plan and deliver the most appropriate communication to make the industry aware of progress and findings.
  • Review, along with internal stakeholders, the expected benefits of project outputs and findings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders of all levels.
  • Maintain information for each project in relevant company systems and provide timely reports on progress.
Applicants should have relevant experience, ideally within the Rail or a similar industry. They should be capable of monitoring a number of projects (10-12) at any one time, have an analytical and logical mind and a full understanding of the project process/lifecycle, as well as excellent stakeholder engagement skills.

The organisation will be transitioning slowly back to office working, but there is flexibility around this and the client envisages hybrid working in the long-term. It is anticipated that the post-holder will eventually need to work out the London office 2 days per week.

Please do not hesitate to apply if you have the required skills and experience.
