Bid Support Engineer – Signalling
Working closely with all disciplines within the Bids and Tendering department and the wider business to ensure client instruction to tender (ITT) documentation is prioritised, captured, and requirements managed within the bid process.
The Bids and Tendering function are a centralised bidding team that is responsible for the delivery of all bids for the business, ensuring appropriate levels of governance and accuracy is applied to a winning strategy.
What are my responsibilities?
- Tender / bid specific process owner for requirements management within DOORS.
- Responsible for administration and configuration of DOORS environment within Bids and Tenders for the purpose of processing requirements.
- Provides training, support, and resolution of DOORS issues to all users at all levels.
- Ensures complete requirements capture from tender phase documentation, internal documents and all other sources.
- Prioritises ITT documents for DOORS upload.
- Assigns Domains to the relevant requirements and approves proposed Domain Owners response.
- Assists team with the creation of Customer requirement compliance statements.
- Reports on progress and current status of requirements for each Bid.
- Registers any updates to requirements and records track changed updates in the requirements management tool.
- Prepares requirements bid status slide for the bid technical review and business process reviews.
- Assist in improving company processes and standards within the bids and tendering Department.
- Ensuring that the requirements management of bids and tenders are delivered within time.
- Supporting the business leads in pre and post bid submission negotiations with the client for requirement change.
- Provide office-based requirement management back-up and support to Bid Managers.
- Ensure that timely communication of all internal reports is met.
- Ensure that Business Management System processes are adhered to.
What do I need to qualify for this role?
- Experience in the use of the IBM Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System software (DOORS).
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word/Excel/TEAMS/ABBYY FineReader.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- A pro-active individual with high energy levels, attention to detail, who is used to working under pressure and to tight/challenging deadlines.
- An understanding of bid processes, planning and railway project implementation preferable.
