ETCS Signalling Expert: Cairo

My client is a leading railway engineering company looking to recruit an experience signalling expert with specific experience in ETCS L1 & L2 for a high speed railway project in Cairo, Egypt. It is a leading role directly responsible for all end to end technical activities leading the development of the solution. This includes Innovation workshops, project sizing, technical interfaces with providers, technical coordination of all engineering disciplines, Compliance to Customer/Product requirements, definition of high level requirements and capabilities including performance aspects and high level design and flow down of all sub- leading up to the successful solution.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Responsibility for the technical solution is feasible, competitive and meets customer expectations, in terms of cost, innovation, performance, schedule, etc.
Participates in Customer technology workshops to refine, tailor and formalize innovation requests, understand and capture customer needs and requirements (formal and informal) and serve as the main technical interface between the Customer, Sales, PLM and Engineering within the Competency Centers.
Acts as the primary technical leader of the bid or project team. Acts as lead technical interface with the Customer (or PLM for a Product).
Monitor, review, advise and assist with technical issues across the programme.
Ensures the solution compliance with Product Policy, contractual requirements (including offsets) and applicable legislation & regulations (ie export restrictions, Environmental/HSE, safety, security..)
Checks that the Engineering Environment (process, practices and tools) for the Solution is consistent with Country/Company requirements, and overall Solution cost, technical risks & schedule.
Reviews together with the SEM (System Engineering Manager) the technical risks and opportunities and the related mitigation plans throughout the bid or project.
Prepares the Design Validation.
Approves the main bid/project engineering reviews and deliverables.

Requirements to apply:

Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Engineering.
10+ years in Railway signalling, Interlocking & ETCS L1 and L2 knowledge.
Basic knowledge with LINUX operating systems.
Knowledge in requirement management tools (DOORS) and systems engineering processes applied in an Agile environment.
High level of English, written and spoken.
Technical knowledge and experience in large scale systems integration and sub-contracting (HW, SW)
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and Customers.
