Principle Signalling Tester in Birmingham, Birmingham, West Midlands, Rugby, Coventry, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Bromich, United Kingdom

International leader in the supply of cutting edge signalling technologies seeks to employ a Principle Tester who holds a Mod 2 license to join their established testing team based in Birmingham with travel to projects when needed. With a strong order book of work to cover a number of years and increased interest in their state of the art products internationally it is excellent time to join this company.

As Principle Tester you will be responsible for managing testing and delivering signalling schemes safely and to plan. You will ensure the signalling project principles data testing is managed and delivered on time, to budget and to current group standards. Other duties will include:

  • Give detailed forecasts of data testing timescales and resource requirements to deliver projects in tendering and during delivery.
  • Liaise with project TIC, Design functions and external customers reporting testing progress. Identify and clarify potential operational issues with client.
  • Production of testing documentation to NR and Project requirements and standards
  • Manage all testing interfaces effectively
  • Manage and motivate allocated testing staff effectively.
  • Taking account of contracted works, identify potential variations and discuss with Project Team/Tendering Dept.
  • Ensure contract is completed to meet required Health, Safety & Environmental requirements
  • Identify potential process improvements and make recommendations for implementation
  • Complete company personal PDPs for allocated staff to identify training and development needs. Effectively attend and onward brief team briefing in technical documents, company safety briefings and alerts
  • Control hours worked

To be considered for the role of Principle Tester you will currently hold a Mod 2 License. You will have a knowledge of contract conditions and understand the planning process. You will have a knowledge of the risk assessment process and hold an in-depth knowledge of group and line standards

In return you will be offered a salary of between £40,000 - £85,000 accompanied with an annual bonus, 25 days holiday plus 8 Bank Holidays, pension with contributions of up to 18% and other associated benefits.
