Job title: Rail Safety Consultant - Infrastructure & Signalling
Job location: Various (Regional Offices Midlands or South & Client Visits)
Salary: £60-70k DOE + Excellent Benefits including private healthcare and annual performance bonus
Key Responsibilities
You will join a leading rail consultancy to deliver on projects within the infrastructure development, signaling and automated systems. Projects planned for this year include ERTMS deployments and major infrastructure support projects for HS2.
This role requires somebody who has a passion for safety and has previous rail industry experience.
The successful candidates should have a degree in a relevant discipline with safety experience in the rail (or other high hazard industry). As appropriate to the stage of your career, you will have experience in some of the following:
This role will have a strong client facing element and may at times require you to integrate into the clients internal delivery teams and work full time at client site to help deliver projects. You must therefore feel comfortable working within the depot environment and communicating internally and externally to help push projects along and secure any necessary assistance or approvals.
This role would be ideal for individuals who have experience in depot optimization or depot operations projects (multi-disciplinary), fleet introductions or major overhauls, RAMs or other business optimization work within the operational rolling stock environment.
Person Profile
Minimum Requirements:
*Degree in a relevant discipline (engineering biased)
*Understanding of Rail Industry Safety Management systems e.g. Common Safety Method (CSM) or the former Yellow Book
*Competent Independent Person, Notified Body and ISA approval processes
*Safety Case development for any of the following rolling stock, electrification, signalling, ERTMS or infrastructure projects.
Desirable Experience:
*Safety Management planning
*Signalling projects expereince
*Safety Case development
*Hazard identification and analysis (e.g. HAZOP/SWIFT)
*Risk Assessment
*Goal Structuring Notation (GSN)
*Industry standards such as CENELEC <phone number removed> and 50129.
Skills
*Organised and methodical worker
*Excellent communication skills
*Excellent problem Solving Skills
