Leading rail engineering joint venture seeks to employ a proven and knowledgeable signalling professional in the role of Senior Signalling Engineer. This exciting position will see the successful candidate play a key role in providing the leadership, strategy and direction regarding their signalling assests. As Senior Signalling Engineer you will join the assurance team reporting directly to the Head of Assurance were you will lead a small team of engineers. This is a highly autonomous position where you will be accountable for the effective and efficient delivery of planned & reactive maintenance, fault response and rectification and asset reliability.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead on the production and on-going development of an asset maintenance strategy in line with ISO 55001 and contribute to the implementation of the strategy
- Set the standards for engineering competence and contribute to the training and development of maintenance and engineering staff. Participate in the monitoring and reviewing of staff.
- Investigate and review best industry practice in operations and maintenance and recommend changes to existing practice.
- Provide professional technical support and guidance to the maintenance department and the whole business.
- Set the standards for the quality and management of tools, parts and materials and for work to be undertaken on the railway
- Review configuration control documentation and make approval recommendations
- Review engineering technical specifications and make approval recommendations.
To be considered for the position of Senior Signalling Engineer candidates will have a broad signalling knowledge covering areas such as fault finding, installation and testing. It is envisaged that you hold Chartered status or, by in the process of achieving it. You will have a strong knowledge of signalling systems, the associated operating procedure, systems interfaces, testing and maintenance. You will have experience producing technical reports, procedures, specifications and have the ability to make recommendations to approve performance. It is essential that you have knowledge of experience managing safety.
In return the successful candidate will be offered a salary of circa £90,000 accompanied with an impressive subsidised travel package, 25 days holiday and pension.
