The Migration Area Team, part of the Field Operations team on the 4LM project, urgently require a Signal Test Project Engineer to join them based in Stratford. As a Project Engineer you will direct the contract works in the migration areas allocated to you and coordinate both Thales staff and subcontractors. You will also support the Migration Area Tester In Charge (MA TIC) with the production of technical and support documentation and test plans and conduct investigations to support efficient test planning including monitoring team resource requirements, skills, competencies and licenses.
The Project Engineer reports in to the Field Operations Manager and the MA TIC and assists them to manage, monitor and control systems activities for this project and acts as a key liaison between Field Operations, Engineering and Project Management.
Due to the nature of the role, this would suit an individual with a technical background in rail signalling, knowledge of test processes and methods and a good understanding of planning methods and site access requirements.
Key duties:
- Maintain an excellent safety culture across the team including cascading relevant safety bulletins
- Ensure all assigned work is within the defined and agreed scope of activities and completed to schedule, budget and quality
- Ensure reporting of all Compensation Event (CE) related to frustrated access
- Conduct planning sessions with relevant stakeholders to ensure maximum utilisation of engineering time or weekend closures
- Support TICs with development of Test & Commissioning plans and results analysis & certification
- Maintain detailed team plan and schedule for site test activities reporting schedule issues
- Ensure team licenses match team profiles to ensure completion of all allocated tasks on a nightly basis
- Communication of activities to night teams on a daily basis
- Support the raising of test logs and discussion of test requirements for site activities
- Support Software Release Readiness Reviews ahead of software deployment
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and manage the change as appropriate
- Ensure all reporting requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner
- IRSE Licensed
- Rail signalling background
- Knowledge of test processes and methods
- Proficient in understanding and reading rail signalling, electrical diagrams & schematics
- Good understanding of planning methods and site access requirements
- Experience liaising with customer and broader project stakeholder group
- Awareness of LUL standards and conversant with basic safety requirements
- Able to work evenings and weekends to support weekend closures (salary uplift and overtime will be provided)
