Signalling Production Manager in Beckton, Newham, London, United Kingdom
We are currently recruiting for a Signalling Production Manager to manage all Signalling works both corrective and preventative, including scope and planning of Signalling asset improvements and replacements, including point and relay life models.
This role will deputise for the Signalling Manager - To manage the Signalling team in delivering excellent customer service, ensuring the safety of all signalling assets, a highly performing railway and ensuring that professional engineering standards are applied to all maintenance activities. Also responsible for managing First Line Response staff across the railway.
Key Accountabilities
•Management of the DLR Metro signalling work bank
•Scoping signalling improvement ideas, including feasibility and economic benefits.
•Determine, plan and implement weekend closure works, including procurement of parts and materials. This may require a flexible attitude to hours worked and could involve unsocial hours working.
•Responsibility for design review, configuration control and compilation of reports.
•Delivery of franchise obligations in the signalling area.
•Cultivate a strong safety culture within the team, and ensure the provision of suitable resources and controls to meet the requirements of the Safety Case. Ensure all appropriate Standards are met.
•Carry out investigations and inspections as required
•Deliver the financial targets set for the business and for the Signalling team.
•Support the Apprentice program.
•The Signalling Production Manager works with the Signalling Manager and Signalling Engineers to formulate maintenance strategy to manage and control all engineering, maintenance, response and project activity within the signalling area.
•The Signalling Production Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the signalling teams and those services relating to the assets within that area and the associated interfaces in the absence of the Signalling Manager.
•Performance feedback and assessment will be provided by the Signalling Manager.
•To promote good working relationships within KeolisAmey Docklands and Stakeholders
Essential/Desirable Experience/Qualifications
•The jobholder would ideally be educated to HNC level or higher and/or demonstrate an extended work history within a signalling engineering environment.
•Excellent communication and proven management skills. He or she must be capable of communicating at Senior Manager and operative level with equal clarity.
•The jobholder will be from a Signalling background with a thorough knowledge of railway signalling systems.
•The jobholder will have excellent leadership and influencing skills with experience of operating at Manager Level and experienced in general management skills.
