Hill International is seeking for a major tender for a Railway project in Uzbekistan :
POSITION: SIGNALLING AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
Central Asia Economic Cooperation Corridor 2 (Pap – Namangan Andijan) Railway Electrification Project (ADB Project / Asian Development Bank)
Project Information:
The project aims to electrify the missing 148.6 kilometres of single track non electrified track linking major cities in the populous Fergana Valley with Tashkent.
The main objective of the consulting services are to ensure that the procurement and implementation of electrification, signalling and telecommunications, track works and associated civil works under the project are carried out efficiently and in an economical manner. The above should be consistent with the widely accepted engineering standards and practices of such works and to the satisfaction of UTY and ADB. Assist in the institutional strengthening of the UTY by conducting an assessment of the existing and anticipated safety situation to the general public including children, supporting the development off practical countermeasures and training of staff to plan future railway developments in the safest manner.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Engineering
- Professional experience of at least 15 years in the field of signalling and telecommunications.
- Professional knowledge in the fields of the indicated contracts.
- Experience in interface management, project and contract management.
- Very good knowledge of the English language .
- Preferable working knowledge of the Russian language.
Duties
- The Signalling and Telecommunications Specialist will review the preliminary design and or detailed design of signalling and telecommunications facilities under the project prepared by the UTY to determine its technical and operational soundness and ability for implementation.
- Assist the Employer PIU in management of relevant contracts up to the stage of completion and handover of works to the Employer.
- Review the safety plans submitted by the bidders
- Review all aspects of interfacing of new installations with the existing facilities and ensure phasing for uninterrupted operation of train services.
