What can you bring to this role?

  • You will have a proven track record as a site Agent/Manager and ideally from a Rail Civils background
  • Used to running projects and experienced HANDS on individual (prepared to be out on site and getting stuck in)
  • You’ll enjoy maintaining brilliant relationships with clients and tackling technical issues that will always present themselves within rail
  • Must be able to do the paperwork side as well as be Hands on
  • PTS, SMTS (If you have an HNC/HND advantage but not essential for this role it’s the experience the most important aspect of this role

What will you be doing as Site Manager?

A normal week will involve you looking after the Management of site activities on a day to day basis. This will include the preparation and communication of work package plans and task briefings. You will be responsible for inductions on site including the driving of the safety culture to Network Rail standards. You will be responsible for producing the site diary to track progress on a day to day basis.

You will look to adopt cost effective construction techniques to create a win win situation for all the stakeholders. You will monitor all competencies on site including PTS’s SMSTS, COSS etc. and ensure that all people on site are qualified to carry out duties. You will manage all the procured plant, materials and labour and be critical in planning possession works to either be present or delegate to a supervisor. Another key part which you will be involved with is buildability- liaising with the client designer directly. Man, Management of a Supervisor, Engineer and site labour.

The type of work you can expect is Rail based, focusing on smaller packages of work with a higher turnover of projects, such as minor works/platform extensions. The progression opportunities available with the company are amazing alongside the potential to become chartered!

  • Salary is between £45,000 to £50,000 for the right candidate. You can also expect a company car or car allowance, holidays are 25 days plus bank holidays and pension scheme.
