Samuel Knight’s principal contractor client are looking for a number of Site Agents to join their business in the South West of England. Based either between Chepstow & Worcester or between Bridgwater & Bristol, you will have experience of managing rail project sites previously.
This is an independent role, with little office work necessary, although from time to time you will visit either Swindon or Exeter. Your responsibilities will be the following:
- Develops and maintains excellent communication / relationships with client, suppliers and consultants.
- Safety performance of contract.
- Lead by example & ensure compliance with industry and company standards
- Proactive in safety management through 4 weekly safety audits.
- Carry out regular site inspections.
- Ensure the CRE and CEM are appointed.
- Supports and implements the Balfour Beatty Rail Zero Harm Action Plan
- Ensure a project quality plan is developed and implemented.
- Ensures site audits are undertaken and takes appropriate action on the findings
- Ensure the cost plan is prepared and monitor cost vs value constantly.
- Understand contract conditions with Client and Suppliers, recognise variations to contract and process accordingly.
- Understand and implement the commercial strategy for the contract.
- Delivery of contract to agreed programme.
- Produce and implement the Project Management Plan.
- Ensure contract is achieving Operational Standards.
- Determines resource levels for the contract in consultation with the Contracts Manager/Project Manager/Works Manager
- Lead and direct the team, promoting a positive culture through inspirational leadership. Develop a culture of continuous improvement.
- Implements PDR Process for respective teams.
- Act as an ambassador for the company with suppliers, stakeholders, customers and the public.
Essential / Desirable Skills:
- Progressing towards Chartered status (Desirable)
- Personal Track Safety (Essential)
- AMP qualification (Desirable)
- 5 day CITB Site Safety Management Training (Essential)
- HNC / Degree in Construction related subject (Desirable)
- Progressing towards chartered status (Desirable)
- CSCS Site Manager (Essential)
- IT skills to enable Use of Project Management software, letter writing, simple spreadsheet manipulation, emailing and accessing intranet based Management System (Essential)
- Full UK driving license (Essential)
- Continual Professional Development (Essential)
- Relevant industry experience at management level (Essential)
