I have a fantastic opportunity for an Agent to work with one of the UK's largest Civil Engineering/Infrastructure contractors on a Multi Million Pound Station Upgrade in Central London. You will be working with a highly professional and skilled team helping deliver this flagship project to high spec and standard.

Apart from having the opportunity to work on one of London's Major Infrastructure Projects you will also be earmarked for future projects due to this Contractor already securing a strong Order Book of over £4 million.

As an Agent you will be responsible for:

  • Active management of the complete construction process at site level, with particular emphasis on leading safety.
  • Establish and maintain safe systems of work as part of developing SHE programme and lead weekly SHE inspections.
  • Be responsible and co-operate with the Project Manager to ensure work is planned and undertaken in accordance with the Project Safety, Health and Environmental Plan.
  • Manage and implement the quality process in accordance with the Project Quality Plan, with a particular emphasis on defect avoidance and zero defects at completion.
  • Plan, organise, implement, review and monitor procedures with respect to Environmental impact and maintain overall responsibility for the implementation of the Project Environmental Plan.
  • Be proactive in controlling project costs and provide detailed reports on variances against weekly forecasts.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, both technical and commercial, and take account of these in developing a strategy for successful project delivery.
  • Manage and monitor the progress of work against realistic programme milestones and advise on measures to mitigate delay as necessary.
  • Be responsible for contractual matters relating to the Contract and Subcontracts, for raising the necessary correspondence, change management and for record keeping.
  • Ensure that subcontractor and supplier contractual programmes are within the required timescale, are regularly updated and effectively implemented.
  • Effectively manage the contractor design elements of work to the same high standards.
  • Chair weekly progress meetings with subcontractors and attend client meetings.
    Liaise with third parties as necessary.
  • Undertake daily shift meetings and site inductions in rota with other managers.
  • Carry out any other reasonable project tasks as instructed by the Project Manager.

Essential Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Degree level/HNC/HND qualification in a Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering
  • Extensive work experience within a similar role with a main contractor in built environment.
  • Experience of coordinating design work and supervising subcontracts.
    Understanding of Engineering Principles
  • Technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices
  • Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system)
  • Relevant CSCS Card
  • Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management
  • Presentation Skills Training (as they deliver inductions / briefings etc.)

Desirable

  • Station Upgrade experience
  • IOSH
  • Member of ICE
