A fantastic opportunity for a Site Agent to step up or a Project Manager to join an ambitious growing civil engineering company as part of the civil engineering division!

THE CLIENT

My client is a leading civil engineering contractor working mostly as a tier 2 supplier to blue chip companies across the highways, power, nuclear, utilities, and construction sectors. Working on some of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects, my client has achieved a strong projected turnover for 2017 of £130m – only having opened doors just under 15 years ago – with a vision to achieve £200m turnover by 2021.

Due to achieving their development goals and winning new work, they are looking for a Site Agent/Project Manager to join the team working on schemes covering London & the South East!

ABOUT THE JOB

This role is not for a Site Agent or Project Manager who wants to sit behind a desk at head office and run a programme at arm’s length, so if that’s your style then this isn’t for you. The structure of the team means that not only will you have the typical responsibilities of a Project Manager (RAMS, site cost control, design management etc.) you will also be based in the site office managing all engineering activity as well.

The projects will involve land remediation and groundworks in preparation for the construction of commercial or residential (large apartment blocks) properties and also the infrastructure and utilities works. You will not only be responsible for delivering my client’s package of works, but also procuring and managing sub-contractors also! Moving forward, the majority of the projects will centre around highways/278 works, so strong civils experience within these sectors would be key.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

So, what would make you ideal for this role? Well, you will need to have come from a civil engineering background working ideally within the highways (278 works) and construction sectors. My client is not necessarily looking for a readymade Project Manager, and will consider someone at Site Agent level looking to make a step up as well!

Most importantly though is the culture fit – they will not consider someone who keeps their head down Monday to Friday and isn’t invested in developing a team around them. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

To be considered for this Site Agent/Project Manager role, you must have a HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering with experience of 278 works. You will need a driving licence and up to date SMSTS and CSCS cards. If you have a SEATS card this will be a strong preference also.

PACKAGE

The company are offering the right candidate a basic salary upwards of £50k (depending on experience) plus a company car or car allowance, and all the bells and whistles to be expected of a company of this size.
