The Company

You will be joining a reputable and firmly established, national rail and civil engineering contractor in with a company turnover approaching £300m (Group TO £500m+). As a specialist civil, building, mechanical and electrical renewals and maintenance business recognised on contracts and frameworks across the country, you will become part of a renowned brand name and team giving you the opportunity to grow in conjunction with this ambitious and forward-thinking business. In recent times, the company has used its repute and solid track record in the rail industry to venture into pastures new and break into working with new clients and industries such as the Environment Agency, Highways England and London Underground to name just a few.

About the Job

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a top contractor as a Site Agent, technically managing and overseeing a host of rail civil engineering, structures renewals, ground stabilisation, bridge repair/re-construction and platform works in a major Network Rail framework contract, with your day to day responsibilities including but not limited to the usual health and safety management, quality, production of all relevant paperwork, work package plans, construction phase plans, complete cost plans, footpath closure arrangements, working closely with the site staff and General Foreman to ensure they are on task and completing work to the right quality standards.

You can expect to manage a busy work stream on stations, bridges, embankments, line side civils, piling, waterproofing, grit blasting and paint jobs. With current projects encompassing the above, you won’t be stuck for work.

The Ideal candidate

You should have progressed to a minimum of Sub Agent level from a Site Engineering background with the relevant qualifications and tickets to accompany that experience giving you the necessary technical understanding required to be successful in the role.

The Requirements

You should ideally be educated to Degree, HNC or HND level in a relevant discipline (i.e. Civil Engineering) from a technical engineering background, or with compensating experience working in a technical Engineering role in a rail civil engineering environment.

Remuneration

Salary is up to £55,000 and will be dependent on experience. Package includes a car or car allowance, 25 days holiday plus bank holiday, contributory pension scheme and health care.
