Site Improvement Operator
A Site Improvement Operator is required for an approximate 14 month contract with a blue chip rail company based at their new Rail Technology Centre in Widnes. This is an excellent opportunity to gain rail experience, whilst adding to your skills.
Hours
90 hours per every 2 weeks. This will average as 45 hours per week. The hours will be working a mixture of day and night shifts and includes working weekends. The hours for days are 07:00 – 17:30 and nights are 19:00 – 05:30.
Rate
£13.28 per hour for all hours worked, through a Limited company.
Location
Preferably applicants will live in Merseyside.
Start Dates
My client is looking for people to start in this role on 17th July 2017.
Duties:
- Acting as an Ambassador of Lean tools and techniques ensuring that existing process improvements are being sustained.
- Hands on improvement to the facility via construction methods, to include joinery, painting etc.
- For the assistance in project design and implementations of new concepts in both lineside and production areas..
- To be responsible for the up keep of painting/minor constructional activities directed by the Operations Management Team.
- To provide constructional support across to the Continuous Improvement Team.
- To provide lineside 5S / Lean support at Widnes.
- To provide integral support to the operations team’s overall objectives.
- To be able to support the Continuous Improvement Team with Kaizen activities.
- Support the Continuous Improvement Team with developing layouts, maximising Lean principles and implementing best practices.
- Identify any new training requirements required with storage/ lineside constructional facilities and implement in accordance with company trainers
Qualifications Required:
- Good level of education, particularly in Maths and English
- City & Guilds in Construction or Painting/Decorating
Experience Required:
- Knowledge of Lean principles.
- Process orientated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Production Engineering processes.
- Knowledge and experience of implementation of improvement methods.
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to apply an organised, methodical and consistent approach
- Must be able to work with all levels of business from process owners to production team members
- Strong team player but with the ability to work well in isolation
- Drivers Licence
