TTT Central – Secondary Lining Sub- Agent / Senior Engineer

Role Overview and Objectives

  • Candidate required to work within Main tunnel team construction team to lead the design, planning, procurement and execution of Secondary Concrete Lining within 12.6km of TBM bored segmental lined tunnel.
  • Design and Build contract therefore candidate will need to coordinate with the permanent works designer to ensure the safest, most appropriate and efficient construction methods can be employed.
  • Candidate will need to engage with supply chain to develop the operational equipment required to construct the secondary lining within the TBM tunnel in line with detailed permanent design.
  • Candidate will be expected to be competent with and understand compliance with all current quality, health and safety and environment legislation including CDM Regulations.
  • Candidate will need to manage various interfaces with other Tideway contracts to ensure all worksite interfaces are safely and efficiently planned of actual works.
  • Candidate will be required to lead on program updates relating to all associated works
  • Candidate will have experience in budget management, cost control and cost forecasting working closely with commercial department.
  • Candidate must be familiar with NEC form of contract including change control and have experience with coordination of all operations to the satisfaction of the Client’s Project Management team.
  • Candidate must be competent in understanding and managing the design of temporary works and previous experience as a TWC is preferred.
  • Knowledge of German language preferred.
  • Must be available for travel within Europe to Subcontractor facilities.

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for building and managing a large team of Engineers and Construction workforce while Ensuring compliance with the all Health, Safety and Environmental Plans and Procedures and associated Risk Assessments, Method Statements and works drawings. Ensuring this information is disseminated to the appropriate personnel and the work force.
  • Ensuring compliance with the all Health, Safety and Environmental Plans and Procedures and associated Risk Assessments, Method Statements and works drawings.
  • Experience in all QC/QA development and management for major tunneling and secondary lining operations.
  • Knowledge of concrete mix design (with steel microfiber) and grout mix design and relevant sampling and testing.
  • Assist and advise in the development of a quality conscious and focused delivery team
  • Development of materials testing plans according to design specification and ensuring

records are created and passed on for archiving correctly and includes entering into

databases where necessary.

  • Engineering control of the works according to each discipline including design

implementation and completion of quality control systems.

  • Production and reviewing of RAMS, ITPs and Lift Plans.
  • Production of scope documents to support the procurement function procure

subcontract and supply packages.

  • Candidate must be familiar with NEC form of contract and have experience with

coordination of all operations to the satisfaction of the Client’s Project Management

team.

  • Candidate should be familiar with NEC form of contract and have experience in

liaising with Project Management team on large scale Tunneling projects.

  • Candidate will have experience in budget management, cost control and cost

forecasting working closely with commercial department.

Experience and Knowledge

  • TBM tunneling experience
  • Experience of leading site and shift engineer teams as well as coordination with labor supervisors

Skill and Qualifications

  • Civil Engineering Degree or similar suitable qualification
  • CSCS card
  • Tunnel Safety Card
  • Tunneling Safety course
  • Experience as Civil Engineer post degree qualification
  • Experience in Tunneling & Major Underground works preferably in London/Urban areas essential.
  • Experience at Tunnel Sub Agent level with development of Tunnel Secondary Lining Strategies from design through to completion of works essential.
