An excellent opportunity to join a leading civil engineering contractor as they kick-start a major bridge project in Edinburgh!

THE COMPANY

Our client is a leading construction and civil engineering contractor, having nearly 30 years’ experience in multiple sectors including rail, construction, water, energy – and more. They are a company built on innovation and are currently investing in other sectors, allowing them to be a contractor of choice across the UK.

Due to them winning a new package of works, they’re now looking for an experienced Sub Agent to join the team out the Northern office, working on a prestigious project in Edinburgh!

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The most important thing for my client is getting the culture fit right within the team. Of course, skill and experience is also important, however they’re looking for someone looking to rise within a business, someone who is unafraid of taking risks (for example, working above water) and motivated by technical projects, with this being their specialism.

Skills and experience wise, of course you need to already have experience at Sub Agent level as they’re looking for someone to hit the ground running.

ABOUT THE JOB

As an experienced Sub Agent, you will already know your responsibilities will include everything from ordering materials and procurement of sub-contractors, to producing WPPs, Method Statements and risk assessments – even being the point of contact for all technical queries on site, supporting the Site Agent.

The project is essentially a bridge repair project, working on a £10million package of works until the end of May – however there’s more work beyond this as part of a framework, so you can expect to be there for years to come!

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for this role, you must have experience either already at Sub Agent level working on bridge projects within any field of civil engineering. You must also hold a HNC/HND/Degree in civil engineering – also a confined spaces ticket would be desirable, but not essential.

PACKAGE

My client is offering a competitive basic salary of £35k - £40k depending on your experience, plus a car or car allowance, stack loads of overtime and all the bells and whistles to be expected from a company of this size.
