The Role
VolkerRail's Piling business delivers lineside piling services within the group and wider market.
We are looking to appoint an experienced Supervisor to work closely with the Construction Manager in the planning and delivery of on site piling activities.
Key Accountabilities
You will be responsible for the supervision of piling works within multi-discipline construction sites to ensure safe construction to Approved for Construction (AFC) design and that programme milestones are achieved. You will develop project specific work package plans, safe work packs, risk assessments and lift plans for implementation by the site teams.
You will also be responsible for the supervision of all staff and sub-contractors involved in piling works ensuring compliance with statutory, industry and company standards, safety requirements and to meet programme milestones.
Skills and Experience
You will be self-motivated with a pro-active approach and have experience of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
An innovative and resourceful problem solver, you will be as comfortable managing sub-contract teams as you are managing your own team.
Significant and demonstrable experience in a supervisory role within the UK Rail industry is essential. Experience of working with all piling activities and any relevant engineering experience would be preferred. You will possess a proactive and responsible attitude with a high level of safety awareness.
An NVQ Level 3 in an Engineering discipline or equivalent is an essential requirement for this role.
Successful candidates will be expected to have a flexible approach to work and be willing to work nights, weekends and lodge away from home as required.
