SITE ENGINEER

“You will act as a Site Engineer for one of the most well-known contractors in Scotland on one of the most high profile depots builds currently taking place.”

THE COMPANY
One of the biggest Rail contractors in Scotland are looking to expand their project team by way of Site Engineer for a major depot build project based in Midlothian. Be it landmark station refurbishments, platform extensions, tunnelling or bridges, this contractor has a fantastic track record of delivering Rail projects to Network Rail time and time again and as such, have been rewarded with works on a large depot being built to house ScotRail’s new Electric Trains coming into use during Autumn of 2017 following a £30m investment.

THE ROLE
Currently in need of a Site Engineer for what will be a minimum of 3 months, you’ll need previous experience dealing with disciplines such as track, platforms, signalling, building interface, deep drainage, embankments, earthworks and soil nailing. With the work being revolved around those areas and disciplines, typical duties will largely include Setting Out but this is not a position for a straight Setting Out Engineer. You will need an appreciation and understanding of tasks such as quality control, ITP’s, downloading coordinates, reading designs and using AutoCAD which will form the preparation for when you need to Set Out using Leica Robotic and Laser Dumpy.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal Site Engineer for this position will be someone that has previous experience working in a Rail/Depot environment and although you will not need a valid PTS, it would be very beneficial. You will be able to work both nights and weekends and you must have a valid CSCS card. An ICI (Industry Common Induction) will also be advantageous. THE RATE
The rate for this position will be a flat rate of £25per hour plus an uplift for nights and weekends.
